英美人民稱呼自己的祖父母時有很多種親昵叫法。奶奶、外婆可以叫作granny、nana、grandma;爺爺、外公可以叫作grandad、grandpa等。

但對他人提起自己的祖父母時，一般就說grandfather和grandmother。

如果你想分清楚到底是爸爸那邊還是媽媽那邊的祖父母，就可以用“on ... side”的表達，例句：
