In Safari on iOS, telephone number detection is on by default. To turn off telephone number detection in Safari on iOS, use the format-detection meta tag as follows:

The facetime URL scheme is used to initiate a FaceTime call to a specified user. You can use the phone number or email address of a user to initiate the call.
