《魔戒》的加長版較劇場版增加了哪些情節？

1、邊界線

一個非常美麗的場景。格魯姆在兩個霍比特人前面帶路。兩人看到一個巨大的紀念碑和雕像。在這個場景里，天空沒有經過數字處理。天色越來越昏暗...這是一個被詛咒的地方。在這個場景里，你將會看到片名“The Return of the King”

2、薩茹曼

薩茹曼和甘道夫、塞奧頓等一行人的對話，將會出現在DVD加長版中。薩茹曼站在陽臺上，企圖通過花言巧語來盅惑眾人，卻被甘道夫識破。隨后，薩茹曼和“三寸舌”都爬到塔頂。薩茹曼用刀威脅“三寸舌”，像使喚狗一樣的對待他，這一次，“三寸舌”奮起反擊，奪過刀，向薩茹曼扔去。薩茹曼被刀刺中，可“三寸舌”也沒能有好下場，被塔下的萊古拉斯一箭射中。

傳言：據說薩茹曼的魔眼石被找到的過程也許會有些變化，有可能是“三寸舌”把它擲向薩茹曼，被薩躲開后，石頭從塔頂上掉了下來，我想加長版里他們不會把這段剪掉吧，后來就是我們看到的，皮平從水中撿起魔眼石，交到甘道夫手中，我想那就該是薩茹曼現身陽臺的時候了。不過薩茹曼具體死法并沒有百分之百確定。據說為拍攝了薩茹曼死亡，工作人員事先錄制了多種死亡方法，在后期制作時視情形而定。另一種說法是，薩茹曼一個人掉了下來，摔到水中。你可以從GBA中了解一些蛛絲馬跡。

3、艾多拉斯：梅利效忠

縱觀全片，梅利始終對塞奧頓陛下效忠，為何？就像第一款預告片里那樣：塞奧頓授予梅利羅漢騎士稱號，賜了一把劍給他，梅利也答應就此效忠。對白：”I offer you my service, King Theoden”梅利贏得了騎士的榮譽。

4、艾多拉斯：伊歐紋和伊歐墨一場關于梅利的對話

就像我們在劇場版里看到一樣，伊歐墨對梅利能否參戰表示懷疑。在加長版中，這場對話更將體現兄妹間的感情。這段場景的存在，是經過“Making-Off-Video”(花絮版段)所證實的，因為導演確實提到了有段“兄妹情”的戲份。

5、艾多拉斯：慶功宴上的“酒量比賽”

從艾森伽德取勝歸來后，阿拉貢、梅利、金姆利、塞奧頓等一行人回到艾多拉斯。當梅利和平皮在桌上跳舞唱歌，當阿拉貢和甘道夫在談論弗羅的時候……此處，加長版中還會出現一些有趣的場景(原著中或許沒有)，萊古拉斯與金姆利兩人比試酒量。對白如下：

這場戲又把重點放回到了伊歐紋的情緒上，她正在為不能出戰而焦急。本來公布的劇情說阿拉貢是來安慰她的，可現在又有傳言，阿拉貢鼓勵她，說他倆會同往戰場。
