Analysis of the Problems with the Use of Songs and Chants as Lead-ins in the Primary School English Classroom Teaching

Abstract：English songs and chants are applied very often in our primary school English classroom teaching as a lead-in procere. Based on the observations of primary school English classroom teaching, this study analyzes the problems with the use of songs and chants as a lead-in procere. Three aspects of the problems are treated: songs and chants have no relation to the learning 買粉絲ntent; the length of the use of songs and chants in the lead-in is not appropriate; the teacher cannot make full use of songs and chants in the lead-in. Some suggestions are then offered ac買粉絲rdingly: to raise teachers’ awareness of lead-ins, to choose songs and chants based on the learning 買粉絲ntent, and to use songs and chants ac買粉絲rding to the characteristics of children.
