比如“知識分子”和intellectual 在中國，“知識分子”一般包括教師、學生 醫生記者等。但在美國和歐洲，intellectual只包括大學教授等有較高的學術地位的人。

這些需要我們在平時的學習中多多觀察積累，多讀英美書刊，多聽原汁原味的英語材料，廣播等，多和英美國家的朋友交流。

這種表達差異在貿易活動中更有體現

這里舉出幾個例子：
