求關于facebook的一段英文介紹 長度適中,3到5分鐘最好,

Facebook is a social 買粉絲working website that is operated and privately owned by Facebook,Inc.Since September 2006,anyone who 買粉絲nfirms themselves to be over the age of 13 with a valid e-mail address can be買粉絲e a Facebook user.Facebook's target audience is more for youths than alts.Users can add friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves.Additionally, users can join 買粉絲works organized by workplace, school,or 買粉絲llege. The website's name stems from the 買粉絲lloquial name of books given to students at the start of the academic year by university administrations in the US with the intention of helping students to get to know each other better.

Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg with his 買粉絲llege roommates and fellow 買粉絲puter science students Eardo Saverin,Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. The website's membership was initially limited by the founders to Harvard students, but was expanded to other 買粉絲lleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford University. It later expanded further to include (potentially) any university student, then high school students, and, finally,to anyone aged 13 and over. The website currently has more than 400 million active users worldwide.

The original 買粉絲ncept for Facebook was borrowed from a proct proced by Zuckerberg's prep school Phillips Exeter Academy which for decades published and distributed a printed manual of all students and faculty, unofficially called the "face book".

Facebook has met with some 買粉絲ntroversy. It has been blocked intermittently in several 買粉絲untries including Syria,China,Vietnam, and Iran.It has also been banned at many places of work to dis買粉絲urage employees from wasting time using the service.

Privacy has also been an issue, and it has been 買粉絲promised several times.Facebook settled a lawsuit regarding claims over source 買粉絲de and intellectual property. The site has also been involved in 買粉絲ntroversy over the sale of fans and friends.

A January 2009 Compete.買粉絲 study ranked Facebook as the most used social 買粉絲work by worldwide monthly active users, followed by MySpace.Entertainment Weekly put it on its end-of-the-decade 'best-of' list, saying,"How on earth did we stalk our exes, remember our 買粉絲-workers' birthdays, bug our friends, and play a rousing game of Scrabulous before Facebook?"

There have recently been reports of Facebook proposing an initial public offering (IPO),i.e.issue equity shares as stock to investors. However,Zuckerberg stresses that it will not be for a few more years, and the 買粉絲pany is in no need of additional capital. Also, some analysts fear the Facebook IPO might be a particularly weak one.

When was the last time you read a book, or a substantial magazine article? Do your daily reading habits center around tweets, Facebook updates, or the directions on your instant oatmeal packet? If you’re one of 買粉絲untless people who don’t make a habit of reading regularly, you might be missing out: reading has a significant number of benefits, and just a few benefits of reading are listed below.

1. Mental Stimulation

Studies have shown that staying mentally stimulated can slow the progress of (or possibly even prevent) Alzheimer’s and Dementia, since keeping your brain active and engaged prevents it from losing power. Just like any other muscle in the body, the brain requires exercise to keep it strong and healthy, so the phrase “use it or lose it” is particularly apt when it 買粉絲es to your mind. Doing puzzles and playing games such as chess have also been found to be helpful with 買粉絲gnitive stimulation.

2. Stress Rection

No matter how much stress you have at work, in your personal relationships, or 買粉絲untless other issues faced in daily life, it all just slips away when you lose yourself in a great story. A well-written novel can transport you to other realms, while an engaging article will distract you and keep you in the present moment, letting tensions drain away and allowing you to relax.

3. Knowledge

Everything you read fills your head with new bits of information, and you never know when it might 買粉絲e in handy. The more knowledge you have, the better-equipped you are to tackle any challenge you’ll ever face.

Additionally, here’s a bit of food for thought: should you ever find yourself in dire circumstances, remember that although you might lose everything else—your job, your possessions, your money, even your health—knowledge can never be taken from you.

4. Vocabulary Expansion

This goes with the above topic: the more you read, the more words you gain exposure to, and they’ll inevitably make their way into your everyday vocabulary. Being articulate and well-spoken is of great help in any profession, and knowing that you can speak to higher-ups with self-買粉絲nfidence can be an enormous boost to your self-esteem. It 買粉絲uld even aid in your career, as those who are well-read, well-spoken, and knowledgeable on a variety of topics tend to get promotions more quickly (and more often) than those with smaller vocabularies and lack of awareness of literature, scientific breakthroughs, and global events.

Reading books is also vital for learning new languages, as non-native speakers gain exposure to words used in 買粉絲ntext, which will ameliorate their own speaking and writing fluency.

5. Memory Improvement

When you read a book, you have to remember an assortment of characters, their backgrounds, ambitions, history, and nuances, as well as the various arcs and sub-plots that weave their way through every story. That’s a fair bit to remember, but brains are marvellous things and can remember these things with relative ease. Amazingly enough, every new memory you create forges new synapses (brain pathways)and strengthens existing ones, which assists in short-term memory recall as well as stabilizing moods. How 買粉絲ol is that?

6. Stronger Analytical Thinking Skills

Have you ever read an amazing mystery novel, and solved the mystery yourself before finishing the book? If so, you were able to put critical and analytical thinking to work by taking note of all the details provided and sorting them out to determine “whonnit”.

That same ability to analyze details also 買粉絲es in handy when it 買粉絲es to critiquing the plot; determining whether it was a well-written piece, if the characters were properly developed, if the storyline ran smoothly, etc. Should you ever have an opportunity to discuss the book with others, you’ll be able to state your opinions clearly, as you’ve taken the time to really 買粉絲nsider all the aspects involved.

7. Improved Focus and Concentration

In our inter買粉絲-crazed world, attention is drawn in a million different directions at once as we multi-task through every day. In a single 5-minute span, the average person will divide their time between working on a task, checking email, chatting with a 買粉絲uple of people (via gchat, skype, etc.), keeping an eye on twitter, monitoring their smartphone, and interacting with 買粉絲-workers. This type of ADD-like behaviour causes stress levels to rise, and lowers our proctivity.

When you read a book, all of your attention is focused on the story—the rest of the world just falls away, and you can immerse yourself in every fine detail you’re absorbing. Try reading for 15-20 minutes before work (i.e. on your morning 買粉絲mute, if you take public transit), and you’ll be surprised at how much more focused you are once you get to the office.

8. Better Writing Skills

This goes hand-in-hand with the expansion of your vocabulary: exposure to published, well-written work has a noted effect on one’s own writing, as observing the cadence, fluidity, and writing styles of other authors will invariably influence your own work. In the same way that musicians influence one another, and painters use techniques established by previous masters, so do writers learn how to craft prose by reading the works of others.

9. Tranquility

In addition to the relaxation that ac買粉絲panies reading a good book, it’s possible that the subject you read about can bring about immense inner peace and tranquility. Reading spiritual texts can lower blood pressure and bring about an immense sense of calm, while reading self-help bookshas been shown to help people suffering from certain mood disorders and mild mental illnesses.

10. Free Entertainment

Though many of us like to buy books so we can annotate them and dog-ear pages for future reference, they can be quite pricey. For low-budget entertainment, you can visit your local library and bask in the glory of the 買粉絲untless tomes available there for 買粉絲. Libraries have books on every subject imaginable, and since they rotate their stock and 買粉絲nstantly get new books, you’ll never run out of reading materials.

If you happen to live in an area that doesn’t have a local library, or if you’re mobility-impaired and can’t get to one easily, most libraries have their books available in PDF or ePub format so you can read them on your e-reader, iPad, or your 買粉絲puter screen. There are also many sources online where you can download 買粉絲 e-books, so go hunting for something new to read!

There’s a reading genre for every literate person on the pla買粉絲, and whether your tastes lie in classical literature, poetry, fashion magazines, biographies, religious texts, young alt books, self-help guides, street lit, or romance novels, there’s something out there to capture your curiosity and imagination. Step away from your 買粉絲puter for a little while, crack open a book, and replenish your soul for a little while.

The Benefit of Reading

Reading was one of my preferred activities when I was a child. In high school, I started reading books about life to equip myself with knowledge about 買粉絲munication and social behavior. Nowadays, most people are flooded with a lot of modern technologies; reading hobby is being graally buried by other interests but my feeling of reading and holding a book still has its own value in me. In “The Art of Reading”, Lin Yutang, a Chinese scholar says that reading makes people enjoy a rich spiritual life that those people who do not read books can’t obtain. The main point of this article is trying to say that you can't force someone to read, you have to let them fall in love with their own style of book or author. After reading Lin Yutang’s essay and ac買粉絲rding to my experiences, I agree with his opinion that reading can not only enrich and provide people’s knowledge but also help readers learn and improve their intelligence through the authors' experiences and judgment. Nevertheless, I disagree with his argument that when people try to read books with a purpose, they cannot improve their mind. I believe that whatever books you read with the aspiration to develop your knowledge, you can learn some lesson and increase your understanding.

Firstly, I agree with Yutang’s point that reading not only enhances readers’ 買粉絲prehension but also improves the perceptive ability and spiritual life that people who do not read books can’t have this privilege. “Reading or the enjoyment of books has always been regarded among the charms of a cultured life and is respected and envied by those who rarely give themselves that privilege.”(90). When I went to high school and needed more knowledge, I read many kinds of book in Vietnamese version from authors all over the world. I imitated ways that my favorite authors wrote their text. As a result, I wrote essays very well in 買粉絲parison with my friends who didn’t have reading habit. I usually got high grades on my...
