如果古人有英文名，應該要西方和中方結合一起起名字。不可能全都按西方的傳統來，畢竟我們中國的創造力還是很強大的。

第三種可以根據古人的字來取。我們都知道古人不僅僅有自己的名字，還有字，號。這些往往也都成為了他們的象征。我們都知道孔子字仲尼，如果用他的字來起英文名可以叫Johhon。聽起來也是比較好聽的。

但現在一般孔子英文名都翻譯為Confucius，按照中文的發音來起的。所以對于西方人來說，音譯一般是比較容易接受的一種。而我們中國人是比較容易接受按照其中暗含的來起名字。

無論使用哪一種來起名字，我們都要尊重他們。并且我們要知道起名字是為了方便文化交流，讓世界看到我們中國那么多優秀的古人。
