h: to start with, tell me about your ecation, please。

l: all right。 i graated from shanghai institute of foreign trade three years ago。 i majored in international trade。

做外貿,和國外客戶溝通必不可少,做外貿除了要了解自身行業的常用英語詞匯以及產品的所有英文信息以外,還需要有一些地道的英語輔助哦~

在國內,如果我們聽到有歪果仁說出一兩句很地道的中文時,可能周圍的人立馬會不自主的看他一眼。同樣的,如果你跟國外客戶溝通時,說出一些很地道的英語表達,他們也會覺得你有所不同。

但請注意,這些表達方式適用于英語系買家,甚至美國與英國人的俗語也會有差異,所以最好也不要對其他語種的買家使用。

展會上遇到之前聯系過的客戶

當你在展會上收到某客戶的名片,突然發現這個客戶是去年聯系過的,自然會順便跟客戶聊幾句,自我介紹后再問問去年報價的產品有沒有消息之類的。

如果客戶記得的話,他們會說一句:

Oh, the name rings a bell. 

口語中,ring a bell表示“對……有印象”。

夸贊對方是談判高手

很多客戶非常喜歡砍價談判,如果客戶最終對價格滿意的話,你不妨趁機拍下馬屁,跟客戶說“您真是談判高手”“您真厲害”這類的話。 

美國的俚語中有一個like nobody's business,就表示“無與倫比”。

比如:

Joseph, you have excellent price negotiation ability like nobody's business!

約瑟夫,你的議價能力真厲害!

不做應聲蟲

老外其實很不喜歡一種業務員,就是不論他提出什么質疑,對方都說ok或者yes。但合作之后卻發現這個做不到,那個也做不好,讓人很生氣。這樣的人,在口語中被成為Yes-man,就是應聲蟲,復數是Yes-men。 所以當客人提出不合適的要求時,你可以直接說明原因,再來一句:

I'm a professtional guy, not a Yes-man.

我是個專業的人,并不是應聲蟲。

歡迎客戶的來訪

在展會上,如果有客戶來攤位,而你想要表達:很高興跟您見面這類話的時候。 業務員可以說:We enjoyed having you. / 很開心您的來訪。這句表達在美國很常見。

luck不僅僅是幸運的意思

假設你跟客戶經過幾輪溝通,把報價和樣品發過去之后,詢問客戶的意向的時候, 如果對方很無奈的說:Just my luck。這就表示“很遺憾”,那么他的意思可能就是無法合作。luck 這個詞表示幸運,但在口語中,just my luck 的意思截然相反。

告知客戶會解決問題

decide通常表示“決定”的意思,但如果后面跟著“matter”的時候,意思就變成了 “解決”,跟solve
