商業信函和普通的私人信函不同在于概念不同。

1、外貿英語信函是國際貿易業務中普遍采用的信息交流方式，私人英語信函是以英語作為交流語言的群體的個人之間信息交流的方式之一，它們都屬于應用文的范疇。

2、國際貿易業務具有固定性、正規性、長期性、程序性、模式化等特點，所以業務雙方的信息交流方式：外貿英語信函在文體上也就有了相應的特點。私人之間的信息交流具有隨意、自由、個性化、非正規化、非程序化等特點，所以私人英語信函在文體上也有其特色。

格式分析

中文商業商務信函的寫作格式，如同一般信函，商業信文一般由開頭、正文、結尾、署名、日期等5個部分組成。 開頭：開頭寫收信人或收信單位的稱呼。稱呼單獨占行、頂格書寫，稱呼后用冒號。

正文：信文的正文是書信的主要部分，敘述商業業務往來聯系的實質問題。結尾往往用簡單的一兩句話，寫明希望對方答復的要求。如“特此函達，即希函復。”同時寫表示祝愿或致敬的話，如“此致敬禮”、“敬祝健康”等。
